Pastor John Jernigan is an ordained minister for 23+ years of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship of Four Oaks. He created a ministry called Heaven’s Gate Ministry that unites churches, business, and organizations together to help serve the community for the homeless, downtrodden, veterans, ex-offenders, and bikers. The food pantry there is called Angels on a Mission. They assist other pantries with food. The food bank is now in five different locations.
He is the President of the board for First in Families of Johnston County. They work for autistic children, and kids with autism. He is on the board of directors For Hopes and Dreams of Johnston county also for autistic children and adults.
He rides a motorcycle to minister to 1 percenters in the biker world — which is called Bikers For Christ. He has been with that agency for 17 years. He is a retired prison chaplain from Wake Correctional of the Wake County Prison System.
He is the husband of 38 years to his wife Debbie Jernigan and a father to five children and grandfather to 12 grandchildren.
