The Johnston-Lee-Harnett Community Action, Inc. is a non-profit organization that offers several services and resources to low and moderate income families in the county. The emergency plan provides emergency grants and other forms assistance to people who need help with bills and are facing a crisis situation. Funding is available to help meet crisis needs of individuals when there is no other resource or programs available to them. Emergency assistance comes from local churches, charities, local area ministries, The United Way, Catholic Charities, and emergency shelter and food grants. In addition, food closets are located throughout the area and they are run by local area ministries volunteers and work closely with the community action agency. You can get help for utility bills, food, vouchers for gasoline, and more as funding is available.

Project Access of Johnston County is a physician-volunteer initiative that gives low-income, uninsured county residents access to comprehensive medical care.
Low-income, uninsured residents up to age 64, who are not eligible for Medicaid, Medicare, worker’s compensation, VA benefits, or any other type of health insurance plan or coverage.
Must be a resident of Johnston County
